PART I: Microsoft 365 Copilot: No Longer an Assistant

Copilot, already used by more than 90% of Fortune 500 companies, is no longer a "chatbot" and becomes a self-aware operations center. Microsoft has rolled out more than 400 new features in the past year, integrating the latest models, including GPT-5, Computer Use (CUA), and Sora 2, as well as Anthropic models

1. Work IQ – Intelligence that Knows the Customer inside out

This is the biggest architectural change. Work IQ is the layer of intelligence behind Copilot and agents that enables a deep understanding of the user, their job position, and the entire organization.

2. Work IQ for Custom Agents

Work IQ is now available for agents created by us in Copilot Studio or via API. This means that agents can operate on the most sensitive company data, but with complete security:

• Respect for existing rights.
• Sensitivity label control.
• Full compliance checks, auditing and logging.
• Billing models: M365 Copilot license or consumption billing.

PART II: The Revolution in Applications and Human Collaboration

Copilot becomes an invisible member of the team across all key applications.

1. Agent Mode and New Capabilities in Office Apps

• Agent Mode (recently introduced) is now generally available in Word and available in Frontier in PowerPoint.
• Excel with Model Selection: Excel users in Agent Mode can choose between Anthropic and OpenAI reasoning models.
• Dedicated Agents in Chat: New agents for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint allow you to create advanced artifacts (documents, sheets, presentations) directly in Copilot Chat. (Frontier Program).

2. Accessibility and Communication Improvements

• Voice Support: The ability to talk to Copilot as if you were a colleague is available in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app (GA in December). You can ask: "what are my priorities for today" or "summarize the meeting I missed".
• Copilot in Outlook: Allows you to sort your mailbox and calendar using your voice (Public Preview). New One-Tap Prompts such as "summarize and answer" and scheduling meetings from the phone are fully available.
• Copilot Chat: Becomes a secure, free AI chat for every Microsoft 365 subscriber. In the future (preview, early 2026), it will gain access to Agent Mode and mailbox/calendar context from Outlook.

3. Human-Agent Teamwork in Teams

• Teams Mode for Copilot: Turns private 1:1 chats with Copilot into group chats in Teams (public preview), bringing AI into a group context.
• Agent Facilitator: is now generally available. It acts as an AI Teammate – it keeps an agenda, takes notes, keeps track of the meeting time and manages the actions to be performed.
• Agents in Teams Channels with MCP: This is a game-changer for project management. Agents can now collaborate with third-party applications (e.g., GitHub, Asana, Atlassian Jira) using Model Context Protocol (MCP). Example: An agent can pull information about holds in a project with Jira and automatically schedule a meeting. (Public Preview).

PART III: Agents Who Change Business Processes and Production

Copilot is a window to agents transforming key processes in the company – from sales to human resources development.

1. Specialist Agents

• Sales Development Agent: This agent is supposed to work autonomously – build funnels, nurture leads, and personalize sales communication. It connects to CRM data (Salesforce, Dynamics 365) and can run directly in M365 applications. (Frontier Program, December 2025).
• Workforce Insights Agent: Gives leaders real-time insights into team performance (roles, seniority, location) to make data-driven decisions. (Frontier Program).

2. Build and Scale

• App Builder and Workflows Agent: Allow you to create and deploy apps and automate workflows using natural language. (Frontier Program).
• Microsoft Agent Factory: Simplifies building, testing, and deploying agents. It allows you to deploy to any platform (including M365 Copilot) with a single metered plan – without licenses and upfront costs. Generally available.
• FDEs support: Companies eligible for the Agent Factory can count on AI Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) support and training to improve AI proficiency in teams.

PART IV: Agent 365 and Windows – Security and Infrastructure for AI

In an era where IDC predicts 1.3 billion agents by 2028, control and security are becoming crucial.

AGENT 365 – CONTROL PLANE

Agent 365 is an end-to-end agent management system, extending existing trusted management mechanisms to the entire agent portfolio, regardless of whether they were created in Copilot Studio, Foundry, or by partners (e.g. Adobe, SAP, Workday).

Five Key Capabilities for Governance (Frontier Program):

WINDOWS: DESIGNED FOR THE AI ERA

• Ask Copilot on the taskbar: Gateway to Microsoft 365 Copilot, Agents, and Search. It allows you to start, call, and monitor agents (e.g., Researcher) using voice or text. (Public Preview).
• Windows 365 for Agents: Enables makers to build and deploy enterprise-grade agents on secure, policy-controlled Cloud PCs. This allows AI workloads (e.g., Copilot Studio) to scale while fully compliant with enterprise standards.

MICROSOFT SECURITY COPILOT IN M365 E5

This is a revolution in the security segment. Microsoft Security Copilot will be enabled for all Microsoft 365 E5 customers. This means that 12 new agents built into Defender, Entra, Intune, and Purview will be made available to every security professional.

Action Strategy for 2026 for CSP Partners

Ignite 2025 has given us a clear signal: AI is a new layer of infrastructure.

1. SMB Expansion with the New Suite: Microsoft 365 Copilot Business availability ($21/user/month, under 300 users, as of December) opens up a gigantic, previously unavailable market. This is a must-have in SMB's offer.
2. Sales do not end with the license. We need to offer an implementation that includes the configuration of Work IQ (data, memory, inference), which is a high value-added service.
3. Governance and Agent Security: customers will need control. Agent 365 consulting and implementation services, agent security verification, and compliance are becoming key revenue streams.
4. Agent Factory and Copilot Studio: these are our scaling tools. We need to leverage Agent Factory's flexible pricing model and App Builder's capabilities to create custom, automated business processes for customers.
